SATURDAY NIGHT. 6:30 - 10:00
Our main event will be Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at (as the last email described) Greenville Center for Creative Arts* located at 101 Abney Street, Greenville. It is a part of Brandon Mill which has been completely renovated into a mixed use complex. The Greenville Center for Creative Arts space is a large area that is divided into sections that provide multiple areas that are conducive to talking and visiting with each other. It has other sections for dancing, food and drink. This will start at 6:30 PM and end at 10:00. We think its history is interesting and will be a fun place. The event is casual with heavy hors d'oeuvres. Open bar included in your reservation fee.
Knowing that your friends/classmates might be in town, you might want to plan other activities that weekend. Below are three optional events for all.
FRIDAY NITE FOOTBALL - SIRRINE STADIUM - 7:30
As we all remember, most Friday nights in October the Red Raiders play football so it would be amiss not to offer that as an opportunity. October 7th happens to be Homecoming against Berea . The game starts at 7:30 and we plan to have some seats marked for Class ’65 at the top of the stadium knowing that we might not want to go up and down those stadium steps. Tickets can be purchased for $8 on GoFan. (free app) It is another techie thing to do but it’s much better than standing in the line at the ticket booth.
SATURDAY MORNING 9:00 AM - WALK
Join Susan Eastland Merritt for a Saturday morning walk. She says… meet at the Cancer Survivors Park (52 Cleveland Street) at 9:00 AM with your water bottle. We will walk through the Cancer Survivors Park and Falls Park to Downtown and back. Plan on walking about an hour – more if you want - less if you prefer shorter
All are welcome!! Susan semerritt47@gmail.com text (864) 414-7204

RED RAIDER PLAZA & BRICK STREET CAFE
Another opportunity to gather with ‘65ers will be at the Red Raider Plaza around 11:00 Saturday morning and then walk across the street to the Brick Street Café for lunch. If you haven’t had an opportunity to visit the Plaza, it is on the front yard near the vines. – visible from Augusta. You can see it from the as you drive by on Augusta Street.. Many of you contributed to the Plaza and ,as you see on the plaque, it was given to the school by our class. The Red Raider was given by another group. The sculpture, Charles Pate, is also a GHS alum
